I am a North Carolina-based photographer creating imagery that captures the essence of my subjects by embracing their beauty and resilience. Born in Miami, Florida, and then raised in Columbus, Ohio, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corp one year after completing my high school education. Now, as I prepare to retire from the armed forces and transition back into the civilian world with my family, I am thrilled to begin my journey as a professional artist.

I began experimenting with drawing and painting at a young age which developed into a lifelong passion for the arts that I carried into adulthood. I purchased a cheap point-and-shoot camera early on in my military career, alongside the use of my phone’s camera, to document the training, events, and memories of my experiences. My photographs began to make their way into military program resources, memory books, and newsletters, compelling me to explore the realm of the photographic arts. Determined to improve my skills, I took the advice of photographers I had befriended and enrolled in the Academy of Art University, School of Photography. Here, I gained the technical abilities and knowledge that would have taken years had I remained self-taught.

My work has become a balance of fine art photography that provides unique perspectives on contemporary issues as well as collaborating with individuals in order to capture their most precious moments. Through my lens, I allow them to reminisce on the beloved events in their lives, preserve memories of special occasions, and even help them discover their hidden strength and beauty.
